Since assuming office as Acting Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia, Mr. Jonathan K. Weedor has launched a series of structured engagements aimed at reinforcing the Commission’s institutional focus and operational effectiveness.
The engagements have included high-level consultations with fellow Commissioners in the Boardroom, as well as broader interactive sessions with senior management and general staff at the James M. Fromoyan Hall.
Most recently, these discussions have extended to election magistrates and field personnel.
At a meeting held on Friday, 17 April 2026 at the Commission’s headquarters on 9th Street in Monrovia, Acting Chairperson Weedor welcomed the open and constructive dialogue with field staff.
He assured participants that the Board of Commissioners (BoC) will thoroughly review the issues raised and provide timely, actionable feedback to support institutional progress.
He underscored the importance of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism, urging staff to remain collaborative and committed as the Commission advances preparations toward the 2029 General Elections.
The session, attended by the full Board of Commissioners, reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening the Electoral Management Body (EMB) and enhancing its readiness to deliver credible electoral processes.
These ongoing internal consultations are expected to inform the Acting Chairperson’s strategic priorities and guide the Commission’s direction in the months and years ahead.
