A new drive to embed fairness and accessibility deep within Liberia’s electoral framework has commenced in Monrovia.

National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC-Liberia) has launched a fresh phase of Gender and Social Inclusion Training for its dedicated staff members.

Generous support from UN Women Liberia is powering this critical initiative, which aims to transform how elections serve every citizen.

This three-day intensive workshop runs from 14 to 16 October 2026, building upon Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen staff capacity in gender equality and disability inclusion.

Participants are diving deep into BRIDGE Module on Gender and Disability Inclusion, alongside NEC Gender Policy, to sharpen their understanding of inclusive electoral practices.

Every session seeks to promote meaningful participation of all citizens, ensuring no voice is left behind in democratic process.

Addressing opening session, NEC Co-Chairperson Cllr. P. Teplah Reeves and Commissioner Boakai A. Dukuly urged staff to engage fully and actively in this exercise.

Their call to action emphasized that true electoral integrity demands unwavering commitment to accessibility and equality for every Liberian.

Representatives from UN Women Liberia and UNDP Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP) are also present at event, demonstrating strong partnership behind this mission.

This initiative powerfully underscores NEC’s commitment to building a more inclusive, accessible, and participatory electoral system in Liberia.
